Male arrested for sex assault after grope

Just before 2 a.m. on Sept. 22 the Whistler RCMP responded to an assault at a nightclub in Whistler. When they attended they discovered from the female victim and her boyfriend that a male had earlier grabbed the victim's buttocks. They were able to point out the male to the police, a 27-year-old male from Vancouver that they determined was in breach of conditions not to consume alcohol. He was charged with sex assault and breach, and held in custody until his case could be reviewed by a Justice of the Peace. The victim was a 23-year-old from Washington State.

Man caught after breaking nightclub window

A 23-year-old Nanaimo male is facing mischief charges after breaking the window of a nightclub in the village just before 3 a.m. on Sept. 23. The police became involved when they noticed three bar staff chasing the suspect through the village. He was caught and detained. The man was intoxicated and detained overnight before being released with a promise to appear in court. The cost of the damage is unknown.

Male arrested for assault

At 10:15 p.m. on Sept. 24 the RCMP answered a call about a possible suicide bid. Through the investigation they discovered that a male had pushed his girlfriend a dozen times the previous night during an alleged domestic dispute, and was not actually in danger of taking his own life. A 20-year-old Whistler man was arrested for assault, and released with a promise to appear in court.

RCMP seek help in identifying bike thieves

The RCMP received a report of a stolen Giant Glory downhill rental bike from outside a business at 3 p.m. on Springs Lane on Sept. 20, and are looking for the public's help in identifying the woman responsible from security footage. Visit www.piquenewsmagazine.com to see the photos.
