The Meadow Park Arena will receive $7,800 for the purchase of a wheelchair lift in the pool area thanks to the 1998 RMCC Ski Challenge on Blackcomb. Just before 85 corporate teams headed up the mountain Tuesday, Ron Marcoux, president and CEO of McDonald’s Western Canada, announced the grant from Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities of Canada. RMCC Canada provides support for community organizations and help improve the quality of life for children and families of children with life-threatening or chronic illness or special needs. Since 1986 the four RMCC Ski Challenges, held annually in Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and at Blackcomb, have raised more than $4 million.
