Ted Morgan has left the Whistler-Blackcomb Ski and Snowboard School after six years to become Director of Skiing at Big White Ski Resort near Kelowna.

Morgan, originally from Toronto, supervised 1,200 ski pros and was responsible for on hill programs, recruiting and staff training at Whistler-Blackcomb. He also has experience at ski and snowboard schools in Banff, and at Blue Mountain and Snow Valley in Ontario.

He has had an association with the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance since 1981 and earned his CSIA Level 4 in 1995.

"We are very excited to have Ted and his family join our team at Big White," said Michael Ballingall, vice president of Big White. "Ted brings an enormous amount of experience in dealing with both domestic and international guests and will be instrumental in building the best on snow talent for Big White."

Morgan will work in conjunction with Norman Kreutz, who was appointed this week to the position of Director of Skiing at Silver Star, Big White’s sister resort.

Kreutz had been Silver Star’s assistant ski school director from 1984 to 1988. He is a member of the CSIA Demonstration Team and has represented the CSIA at the World Powder Eight Championships.

Originally from Thunder Bay, Kreutz has also been a ski racer and a coach.
