Michael Jones, walking down after a crash and mechanical, settled for last overall in 1:13:11.8.
Only three women raced the complete "Excreamer" course, Mags deGrace in 17:36.1, Jenelle Cassidy in 20:14.8 and Heidi Telstad in 24:05.1.
Meanwhile Whistlers Kevin Phelps won the hardtail category, clearing the course in an aggressive 16:19.5. He was joined on the podium by Ian Ritz, another Whistler rider, who finished third in 17:21.2, less than 30 seconds back of second place rider John Teghtmeyer.
