This 9 th Annual Extremely Canadian Season Kick-Off Party is coined Bad Santa this year, with partiers invited to be naughty or nice Saturday, Dec. 3 at 8:30 p.m. at Merlins.
Extremely Canadian is infamous for its sexed up, over the top free for alls. Approximately, two years ago the Pimpn Ho was dubbed the Freakers Ball, after a 70s-era party in Whistler. Organizers tamed the debaucherous lingerie exhibition to carry on, but Extremely Canadian are definitely still on Santas naughty list.
The grand prize this year is a $7,000 Northern Escape Heli-Skiing adventure. Rossignol Scratch FS skis and prizes from Smith, Columbia and The Love Nest are up for grabs too.
Naughty boys and girls will dance to mixes from DJ Ellohenn and DJ Phroh.
Tickets are limited and sometimes sell out in hours. Tickets are $15 and go on sale Monday, Nov. 28 at noon at the Extremely Canadian Office above Buffalo Bills.
Beagle under new ownership
The Beagle is back with a newly renovated Powder Hounds Lounge to bark about at the grand opening gala Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 10 p.m. at the Savage Beagle.
New management Powder Hounds Hospitality, the same organizers who bring you Garfinkels, assumed ownership of the Beagle in July and put hammer to nail to bring the worn bar into the new millennium.
The downstairs dance club boasts new hardwood floors, local artwork, a VIP booth and new lighting system, while the upstairs lounge provides an escape into an acid-jazz atmosphere until midnight on weekends. Diners can take advantage of the newly created After Dinner Mynts program by flashing their restaurant cheque at the door to bypass lineups.
The Faction Sound Crew will mix hip-hop for the gala with the VIP party starting at 8 p.m. and the public invited at 10 p.m. The Beagle is now open seven days a week.
Marriage party proposal
Creekside Phil, most famously known for his two-armed guitar riffs in the Whistler-based Led Zeppelin tribute band, A Whole Lotta Led, will be playing the wedding march next Thursday, Dec. 1 at Dustys.
The Whistler local is marrying Cara Davison at the Roundhouse on Thursday afternoon. He invites the public to celebrate the couples momentous day with a reception party Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. at Dustys, with music from the Hairfarmers.
You can also congratulate the local musician at his next A Whole Lotta Led show Saturday, Nov. 26 at 10 p.m. at Dustys.
