LIVE MUSIC AND EVENTS

What:The Block Party - Crankworx Everything and everyone comes together for this festival highlight. The Sessions crank out the music of the 1980s British rock scene at 7:30 p.m. followed by the soulful groove of Kuba Oms and Velvet at 8:30 p.m. Films take over with the premier screenings of Crankworx Greatest Hits, the NWD 8 trailer and Have You Seen This? Free event.

What: LUNAFliks - Crankworx Everything Thursday night LUNA hosts indie films under the stars at dusk. Grab a blanket, picnic and friends and head out to this favourite local pastime. DJ FSU tables ragga beats at 9 p.m. with the film following at dusk (10 p.m.ish). Tickets $5/$3. WAVE bus leaves starting at 9 p.m. at the bus loop up from ? Skier’s Plaza for $.50. Who: Sweatshop Union Watch the premier of Freeride Entertainment’s NWD 8 trailer at 9:30 p.m. followed by the legendary easy grooving west coast hip of Sweatshop Union.

Who: Kostaman Feel the reggae love with Kostaman and The Vibrations with DJ Proh on deck.

What: Open Mic The Boot Pub house band Gnar Boots returns with ever popular open mic night starting at 9 p.m.

Who: Guitar Doug The man, the hair, the legend. Doug strums tunes worth a toast of your pint from 7-11 p.m.

Who: Doc Fingers Jazz, soul, cajun, blues and boogie woogie tunes from 5-7 p.m. & 9 p.m. to midnight.

CLUBS AND DJs

What: Overflo DJ Rosco spins dance hall, hip hop and Top 40. Girls don’t pay cover.
