Whistler's move towards becoming a sustainable society has its roots in The Natural Step Framework and its founder is coming back to Whistler to tell us how we're doing so far.
Dr. Karl-Henrik Robert will be the fifth and final speaker in the Leadership Through Innovation Speaker Series. His presentation will begin at 7 p.m. at the Whistler Conference Centre on March 12. There will be a sustainability open house an hour before he begins his talk.
He will talk about how sustainability can be achieved in a society and what lies ahead for Whistler.
Whistler's version of The Natural Step Framework is known as Whistler. It's Our Nature. More than 70 municipalities have adopted some form of the Framework so far, as well as about 60 corporations.
Robert is a global sustainability leader. He was awarded the Blue Planet Prize, also known as the Nobel Prize for the Environment, in 2000.
