Have you ever wanted to know more about whats in the night sky other than the Big Dipper?
Heres your chance.
The Whistler Astronomy Club along with The Pacific Observatory are hosting a September Stargazing Series.
For the next three Saturday evenings in September, club members will be camped at Rainbow Park on Alta Lake from 8 to 11 p.m. checking out the night sky.
Everyone is welcome to listen to talks on various starry topics including:
an introduction to naked eye astronomy;
information on the constellations;
binocular stargazing; and
observing the night sky through different telescopes.
The events, which will run Sept. 4, 11 and 18 will be free. Everyone is welcome. Bring a lawn chair, binoculars, a thermos and dress warmly.
