The Whistler Winterhawks Peewee Rep team (ages 11 and 12) added two more banners to the rafters at Meadow Park Arena this weekend, bringing the number to six for the season for Whistler Minor Hockey Association Teams.

The Peewee Rep team won both the PCAHA Flight 4 banner for winning the regular season standings, as well as the Peewee A Presidents Series Playoff banner.

The team started out in Tier 6 for the first half of the season, before being reseeded two steps higher to Tier 4 for the second half the season. The coaches were concerned whether the team would still be competitive at a higher level, but the wins kept coming. The team finished the season with 11 wins, six losses and one tie. They scored more goals than any team in their division, with 86 goals scored in 18 games or an average of 4.77 goals per game.

The Winterhawks got a bye in the first round of the playoffs, but were reassigned to play against Tier 3 teams with the possibility of heading to the provincials.

Competition was tough, with three games against the Sunshine Coast team. The first two games ended in ties, and Whistler lost the final by one goal.

The team then proceeded to round 8 of the Presidents Series, where the Winterhawks swept three games against teams from Surrey, Chilliwack and Abbotsford.

The team included Michael Boulanger, Thomas Cankovic, Taylor Derynck, Drew Eastwood, Wyatt Fellows, Ben Flynn, Dylan Girard, Ryan Grills, Mackenzie Hart, Evan Horvath, Grant Iles, Mahon Lamont, Austin Reith, Ben Thompson, Tyler Welsh and Matt Wentzel.
