GREETED BY BEATS

Who: Suzanne Wilson

Where: Crystal Lounge

Acoustic guitarist plays covers from Alanis to Jewel, originals too, tonight and tomorrow night. Her subtle songs blend with the Lounge atmosphere: casual and funky at the same time.

Who: Bowen Boys

Where: Dubh Linn Gate

Live music still alive and well in Whistler! East Coast and Celtic music featuring the music of Moritz Behm and Rob Thompson, with their fiddle and guitar sounds rocking the house amid pints of Guinness.

Who: Cameron Chu

Where: Bearfoot Bistro

Nightly jazz from piano man Cameron Chu. Conversation-friendly volume in a stylish venue.

What: 10th Annual Star Search

Where: 7 p.m., Eagle Eye Community Centre

A presentation of the Howe Sound Performing Arts Association, the annual contest is open to performers living in the sea to sky corridor, ages 13-21, who will perform a clearly defined song with their accompanist or backup tracks. The contest features dancers, singers and novelty acts.

What: Das Boot Ballet

Where: Boot Pub

Adult entertainment by ladies, for men.

CLUBS AND DJS

What: Fresh Fridays with R3

Where: Garfinkel’s

DJ R3 spins his favourites so you can cut a rug.

What: Ninja Tune Friday

Who: DJ Craig

Where: Maxx Fish

The revenge of DJ Craig a.k.a. C the Selecta takes over in full CIRCA fashion.

What: Passion Fridays

Where: Tommy Africa’s

Whistler’s own DJ Erin continues through the summer and keeps grooving all night long with an incredibly delicious sound of funky vocal house, including UK remixes.

Who: DJ Peace Frog

Where: Buffalo Bill’s

Tunes from Peace Frog, and no cover for ladies.

Who: DJ Derek

Where: Savage Beagle

A mix of Top 40 tonight and Saturday.

PUBS & PATIOS

Where: The Brew House

Brewhouse tunes are always hopping from morning to night. Outdoor patios make for great people watching in the village, alongside pitchers or specialty coffees. Near all the bars, clubs and shops in between marketplace and central Village Square.

Where: Hoz’s Pub

Down to earth pub but still in that Whistler style. Just a hop, skip and a jump over the roadwork from that brisk walk on the Valley Trail in Whistler Creekside.

Where: Citta’

Citta’s central stage in Village Square attracts locals, patio-side, and visitors too. Best people watching spot to enjoy a variety of pints on tap. Open for lunch, low key candlelight dining upstairs into the summer evening.
