The RCMP is investigating after reports of shots fired in the area of the Pemberton Hotel. Sgt. Rob Knapton said nobody was hurt in connection with the late night firearms incident.

“We have one person in custody and we’ve got our GI (general investigation) team on site conducting an investigation,” Knapton said.

The RCMP isn’t releasing any other information at this time.

According to an employee of the cold wine and beer store at the hotel, the hotel bar is closed and the RCMP investigation is taking place outside the building.

The firearm incident reportedly followed an altercation outside the hotel.

Pemberton Search and Rescue was called in to help search for evidence.

Pique will update this information once new details are released.
