Local police are on the hunt for a suspect who reportedly stole a jacket from a Whistler retail shop this weekend.

On Sunday, Feb. 14, Whistler RCMP received a report of the theft from a village store that occurred two days prior.

A male suspect can be seen in surveillance footage taking the pricey jacket and placing it on a nearby rack. He can then be seen rolling the jacket up and stuffing it inside his coat before leaving the store without paying, police said.

The missing jacket is a black Hublot coat with fur lining around the neck and collar, police said. It retails for $4,500.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, clean-shaven, likely in his mid-30s. He was seen on the tape wearing a dark coloured toque and a black and white horizontally striped long sleeve shirt with dark pants and dark shoes.

Anyone with relevant information should call the Whistler RCMP detachment at 604-932-3044, or leave an anonymous tip with BC Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
