Sometimes when you gotta go, you gotta go.

Nature called for a Markham, Ont. man last week when he was caught peeing on his cellmate at the Whistler RCMP detachment after being arrested for public intoxication. On April 2, an officer was lodging a female prisoner in cells when he was alerted to a male in another cell who "took off his pants, sat on his cell mate, and then stood up and urinated on him," explained Staff Sgt. Steve LeClair.

The 22-year-old was still "highly intoxicated" at the time, police said. He now faces charges of assault along with the earlier public drunkenness charge.

$10K in jewelry reportedly taken from hotel lockbox

Police are following up with a Whistler hotel guest who reported approximately $10,000 in jewelry missing from a safe in her room last month.

The woman notified police of the alleged theft on April 4, about a month after the incident, she claimed. "She had previously reported this to the hotel but not police as she wanted to file for insurance purposes," said LeClair. "Police are going to follow up with her to determine what actually happened."

Repeat offender arrested for stealing liquor, police say

A Mount Currie man is back in jail after repeatedly breaching his probation conditions and stealing liquor from a Pemberton store, police said.

On March 29, Pemberton RCMP received a report of two males arguing with a man and woman. When officers arrived, they found the 32-year-old suspect in possession of what turned out to be two bottles of stolen alcohol. The man was on conditions not to consume alcohol or be in a licensed establishment stemming from an earlier arrest, restrictions he evidently has had trouble following. LeClair noted it was the third time the suspect had breached his conditions since March 2015.

The suspect remains in custody.

Snowboard, cash reported stolen from trailer

Police are investigating a break-and-enter at a trailer last week that reportedly left a woman without hundreds of dollars in cash and valuables.

On April 2, the complainant called police to report her residential trailer on Lakeside Road had been broken into sometime that morning after the front door was "forcibly ripped open," police said.

Reportedly missing are a snowboard, an iPhone 5, a winter jacket and $800 cash.

The investigation continues as police await the results of a forensic examination for possible fingerprints.
