Children benefit from ski challenge The Chateau Whistler Resort will host the 11th annual RMCC Ski Challenge on Blackcomb Mountain Tuesday, April 4 with corporate teams of four skiers joining Team RMCC, which consists of World Cup and Olympic champions Felix Belczyk, Karen Percy-Lowe, Laurie Graham-Flynn and Brian Stemmle. The aim of the ski challenge is to raise money for local children’s charities and Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities of Canada. The event is expected to raise more than $73,000 for RMCC, which provides support for community organizations that help improve children’s quality of life, combat threatening or chronic illnesses or meet special needs. Since 1986, ski challenges across the country have raised more than $4.9 million for RMCC, which is a national non-profit organization that delivers benefits at the local level. Since 1990, local beneficiaries have included the Disabled Skiers Association of B.C., Whistler Health Care Centre and the Whistler Rotary Learning Disabilities Foundation, to name only a few.
