The first of three Atomic Skier/Snowboardcross events got underway on Feb. 21 in almost 30 centimetres of new snow, which continued to pile up over the course of the day.

With all that snow to play in the turnout was respectable in every category, with more than 60 racers showing up.

Prizes and cash ($100 for the winner, $75 and $50 for the runners-up) were available to the top riders, and those lucky enough to win draw prizes.

Kevyn Johnston won the Atomic Snowboard, and Mel Dydynsky won the Atomic 10’22 skis.

The next events on the calendar are March 7 and 21. Register between 8:45 and 9:45 a.m. in the Rendezvous.
