Children from all three of Whistler's community schools will raise their voices in song and in honour of our fallen heroes at a concert to be held at the Catholic church, Sunday, Nov. 7.
The concert of remembrance is free of charge and a time to join the Whistler Childrens Chorus in thoughts of past wars and dreams of future peace. Singers from Grades 1 through 12 will participate. The concert gets underway at 4:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church.
The Whistler Children's Chorus, a non-auditioned community choir, is entering its 13th year of performance and rehearsal. The chorus is comprised of three distinct groups the junior, intermediate and honour choirs and all participants are given an opportunity to experience the making of choral music with a focus on musicianship, personal growth and a chance to develop a life-long love of the art.
The Childrens Chorus traditionally performs at key community events including Canada Day, the Christmas Eve Carol Service and Remembrance Day.
