SUMMER STREET ENTERTAINMENT>>

The village walkways will come alive from Fri. Aug. 27 to Sun. Aug. 29 with Tourism Whistler’s Jazz Blues n’ Swing weekend. This interactive weekend features the sounds and moves from Suburban Swing, lesismore, Cousin Harley and Wes Mackey. Pick up some moves and grooves for the dance floor! BRACKENDALE FALL FAIR HOOTENANNY>>

A local lineup of musicians will showcase their talents at the Brackendale Fall Fair Hootenanny on Sat. Aug. 28 at the Brackendale Art Gallery Theatre. Tickets are $8. Doors open at 8 p.m. For info call 604-898-3333.

MUSEUM DEDICATION>>

The Pemberton Museum Archives building will be dedicated to Mrs. Margaret Fougberg and the late Slim Fougberg on Tues. Aug. 31 at the Pemberton & District Museum at 2 p.m. The Fougberg’s started collecting and storing archival facts and records many years before the museum society was established. SKATEPARK FUNDRAISER>>

They’re 30 per cent of the way there! Help the Pemberton Skateboard Park Society get a little further in their fundraising efforts for a local park on Thurs. Sept. 2 at the Pemberton Hotel. 24 HOURS OF ADRENALIN>>

It’s a mountain biking race that goes on forever…well, for a full 24 hours at least. Teams of bikers or solo contestants will take part in the 24 Hours of Adrenalin from Sat. Sept. 4 to Sun. Sept. 5. BIKERS FOR BURNS>>

Hop on your hog and head to Whistler for the second annual Fire Fighters’ Bikers for Burns Whistler Run to support the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund and its summer Burn Camp. The run starts at the Flying Swan Café in Vancouver at 9 a.m. (registration at 8 a.m.) and goes up the Sea to Sky Highway to the Whistler Village Fire Hall. Cost is $20/person.
