What: First Night 2011 A family favourite not to be missed, Whistler's legendary First Night is a fun New Year's Eve Celebration for the whole family. Includes live music, storytelling, art workshops and street entertainment for people of all ages. Get your advance tickets at Meadow Park Sports Centre or the Whistler Visitor Information Centre. Tix: Adults, $15; Children 12 and under, $8; Chidren under two, FREE.

What: 25th annual brackendale bald eagle festival & count Check it out! Count some eagles. Volunteer eagle counters will cover 22 areas throughout the valley, from downtown to riverside.

What: aware plastic bag info session An information session about the newly rejuvenated movement to eliminate the use of disposable plastic bag in Whistler. Presentations from AWARE and Nicolette Richer from the RMOW.
