The locally produced independent feature film The Big Bank Theory, is just about to wrap principal photography, but is still looking for a little investment.

Produced and directed by Adriane Polo, the film stars Vancouver actors Kelly Goyer and Phil Trasolini and co-stars Tod Carroll, Michael Walker, Charisse Baker, Squamish actor Skai Stevenson, and Whistler actor Tristan Dobbie .

The movie is about two hapless guys who find a great deal of stolen money and decide to do right thing and return it to the orphanage where it belongs. However, their cross-country trek is in jeopardy as they are pursued by a whole entourage of bizarre characters. This is a comedy for people of all ages.

Produced by Sea to Sky Entertainment, the company that puts on the annual Sea to Sky Film Festival, now in its seventh year, and KIDSfest, an annual celebration of children’s theatre. The company also provides extra talent for movies that shot in the corridor, such as Insomnia.

Polo has produced and directed two previous feature films, Wild Wind, and Treasure Mountain – A Pirate’s Tale (www.treasuremountain.net) , shot here last summer.

"The purpose of this movie is to showcase local talent, promote local scenery and location, and to develop a film support crew," says Polo. "The movie is financed by corporate sponsorship, private investors and cast and crew deferrals, and by the generous contribution of our local community, without whose support of the arts would not allow us to produce this world class movie on a professional scale."

The production has just a few days of shooting left, scheduled for this weekend, before moving into post production. Producers are looking for corporate or private sponsorship in a form of a grant or investment.

"We are offering 100 per cent write-off on this year’s income tax form (charitable tax number), a big thank you in end credits of the movie, and four tickets to the premiere," says Polo . " We will have three local showings: Rainbow Theatre or Millennium Place (in Whistler), Eagle Eye Theatre (in Squamish), Pacific Cinematheque ( Vancouver), and after that: other theatres across North America, Television, VHS and DVD ." The sponsorship offers good exposure, advertising and a show of support for local arts.

"I believe this to be an incredible opportunity to showcase and promote the Sea to Sky corridor, its people, landscape and businesses," says Polo.
