Some of Whistler’s top snowboarders opted to take part in the Ripzone Provincial Snowboard Series at Big White this past weekend, but otherwise there was a strong turnout of more than 40 skiers and snowboarders for the first Sprite Park Rider Sessions halfpipe of the season.

The conditions were on the icy side and there were long delays when the clouds moved in to hide the pipe from the judges, but all of the participants managed to squeeze in two judged runs.

The next event on the calendar is the two-day Atomicross Jan. 21-22 on Blackcomb. The Atomicross is open to skiers and snowboarders, and pre-registration is available at Whistler-Blackcomb Guest Relations and Ski School Sales.
