Strut Your Stuff offers one-stop registration

Kidsport applications available

Busy kids means busy parents, but once a year the community hosts an event designed to simplify things a little.

The 10 th annual Strut Your Stuff fall community registration fair is set for Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Spring Creek Community School. Dozens of local organizations, from Whistler Gymnastics to the Whistler Children’s Choir to the local minor hockey association, will be on hand to provide information, answer questions and register children for fall and winter programs.

Organizations that have not signed up but want to be a part of Strut Your Stuff are asked to call Meadow Park Sport Centre at 604-935-PLAY to reserve a table at the event, paying a small fee to help with advertising and set-up. Organizers are also invited to make displays as interactive as possible with video and demonstrations.

For parents with children in hockey and figure skating there will also be an equipment exchange. Bring your gear to the Daisy Room for 9 a.m. for sorting and pricing.

As well, parents and organizations can pick up applications to apply for KidSport funding from the Whistler branch of KidSport B.C. With funding from the Whistler-Blackcomb Foundation, B.C. Lottery Corporation and other sources, KidSport can provide grants to help pay for equipment and registration in accredited sports. Some funding is also available for Squamish and Pemberton.
