Strut Your Stuff on Saturday

The annual Strut Your Stuff Fall Registration Fair will return this Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Spring Creek Elementary School.

More than 20 local community organizations and sports groups will be in attendance, making it easier for parents and kids to sign up for a year’s worth of extracurricular activities at one place and time. They can also use the opportunity to shop for other activities, with participating groups on hand to answer questions and put on demonstrations.

The Whistler Minor Hockey Association and Whistler Skating Club will be hosting their annual gear swaps during Strut Your Stuff, and the Whistler Secondary School will be running a café during the fair to raise money for their sports teams.

Kidsport Whistler will also be on hand to answer questions and hand out applications for grants. Funded by the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, Kidsport gives grants of up to $300 to kids up to 18 years of age who qualify for financial assistance, helping them to cover the costs of registration and equipment.

The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and drop-off for the gear swaps gets underway at 9 a.m. to give volunteers more time to organize the gear.
