In recognition of their contributions to the community, a group of Whistler Secondary students have received special Youth Week Awards.
Award winners in athletics are:
Kristin Young Kristin works with young gymnasts at the Whistler Gymnastics Club.
Tyson Duck The Storms star forward ran a junior basketball development program at Whistler Secondary to encourage young players to participate and develop their skills.
TJ Grabowiecki TJ helped Tyson run the development program.
Troy McLean Troy volunteered all season as a Whistler Minor Hockey coach in the initiation program.

Teresa Bate Teresa has been involved with the Re-use-it Centre, volunteering her time to help out with its day to day needs.
Kathy Rybar and Jennifer Pringle Kathy and Jennifer implemented the Whistler Secondary School Web page and spearheaded the yearbook.
Youth week was observed across the province May 5-11, with communities holding youth forums and supporting athletic and citizenship contributions to the community.
