Taluswood not going down the toilet Contrary to rumours going around the valley, the Taluswood development on Whistler Mountain is not in financial trouble. Taluswood’s Roger Stacey says the municipality did not issue a building permit for the 37 units in Phase II, the project was then red tagged by the municipality and Taluswood’s bank wouldn’t advance financing to a red-tagged project. Some construction crews have been laid off but work continues on Phase I of the development. Stacey says the reason the municipality hasn’t issued a building permit is because a sanitary sewer connection has not been designated. "When we bought the land from Whistler Mountain the maps said there was an easement through the Wolverine Crescent lots for a storm sewer," Stacey says. "It should have read sanitary sewer." The Wolverine strata council objected to a sanitary sewer line running through their subdivision so Taluswood planners have been meeting with the strata council and discussing alternative routes. Stacey expects the sewer line issue to be resolved in a week or so and the project will be back on track.
