Telegraph readers vote Whistler No. 1

For the second consecutive year Whistler has been voted the best ski resort in the world by readers of the British broadsheet the Daily Telegraph.

The award, presented in London Oct. 15, is based on a travel survey by the Telegraph’s readers.

The readers ranked everything from airlines to travel Web sites.

This is the second U.K award Whistler has received this fall. In September Whistler was awarded the 2002 North American Ski Resort of the Year by the editors of The Good Skiing and Snowboarding Guide.

"A number one ranking with both the Daily Telegraph ad The Good Skiing and Snowboarding Guide is a very exciting way to launch our 2001-02 season, particularly since the UK is such a key market for Whistler," said Barrett Fisher, vice-president marketing strategy and business development at Tourism Whistler.

"Whistler’s numerous top ratings have been a powerful marketing tool, and we are very pleased to receive these two prestigious awards and endorsement for our U.K supporters."
