ALTITUDE X. The 10 th annual gay and lesbian ski week in Whistler runs from Feb. 3 to 10. The Westin Resort and Spa is headquarters for this year’s festival, but there will be special events at the conference centre, Meadow Park Sports Centre and on the mountains.

NOW YOU’RE TALKING. Saul Reichlin stars in this production at Maurice Young Millennium Place, Feb. 8, 8 p.m.

DAVID LANGEVIN. A reception at the adele-campbell Fine Art Gallery for painter David Langevin will be held Feb. 9, from 5 to 9 p.m.

RITA COSTANZI. Harp soloist performs at Maurice Young Millennium Place Feb. 9, 8 p.m.

CANCER GROUP X COUNTRY SKI. Join the Cancer Support and Friends group for an afternoon of cross country skiing, hot drinks by the fire and a potluck lunch on Sunday, Feb. 17 from 11 a.m. Rides available from Whistler. All welcome. Call Joanne Turner at 604-938-1902 for information.

DUAL MOUNTAIN RALLY. A fund-raiser for the B.C. Rehab Foundation. Teams of four ski or board both mountains on Feb. 23, stopping at check points. Call 604-737-6383 for information.

MEETINGS/WORKSHOPS

COMPREHENSIVE SUSTAINABILITY PLAN. Four consultants shortlisted to design Whistler’s Comprehensive Sustainability Plan will present their cases Feb. 2, 2-6:30 p.m. at the conference centre. Each consultant will have 45 minutes, followed by a 15-minute question and answer session. Audience members are invited to provide their input by filling out a survey questionnaire.

WHISTLER COUNCIL MEETING. All the verbal thrust and parry of municipal politics on display at municipal hall Feb. 4, at 7 p.m.

HOW TO GET BETTER GRADES. Whistler Secondary PAC is presenting Terry Small, an expert in study habits and student success, on Feb. 7, 7 p.m. at Whistler Secondary. The seminar is suitable for students of all abilities from Grade 4 to university. Parents and students are encouraged to attend.

BRAIN INJURY SUPPORT GROUP. For people recovering from or coping with the effects of brain injury. Meeting, on Feb. 13, will be facilitated by occupational therapist Chris Moore. Call Donna at 604-902-0063 for details.

HELPING HANDS

WHISTLER NORDIC YOUTH PROGRAM. Mondays from Jan. 14 to March 8 the Whistler Nordic Cross-country Club is running a youth club program for kids age 12 and up. The program runs from 5 to 7 p.m. each Monday at Lost lake Park. Contact Michelle Crowe at 604-932-4447 for information.
