TELUS MOUNTAIN VALLEY GOLF CLASSIC>>

The seventh annual mixed golf fundraiser will take place at the Chateau Whistler Golf Course on Fri. Sept. 13. The after party at Dusty’s will feature a BBQ buffet, silent auction and music from the Hair Farmers. All proceeds go to various charities in the Sea to Sky communities.

MOUNT CURRIE SALMON FESTIVAL>>

Face painting, arts and crafts and a salmon ceremony are all part of the Mount Currie Salmon Festival on Sat. Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be food and displays and canoe trips. For more info call Liz Jones or Carl Sam at 604-894-6234.

The Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation Weekend to Remember Sept. 14-15 includes a gala dinner Saturday night and a golf tournament at Nicklaus North Sunday. 2002 TERRY FOX RUN>>

The 5 and 10 km run/walk takes place on Sunday Sept. 15 at a new Whistler location, Riverside Campground. Registration is at 9 a.m. and start is at 10 a.m. A family even for all with a BBQ, live music and face painting. All proceeds go to cancer research. Many volunteers required. NEIL FALKNER MEMORIAL PLAQUE DEDICATION>>

On Sunday Sept. 15 friends and family of Neil Falkner will gather at House Rock on the Cheakamus River, northeast of Function Junction, to install a plaque in honour of Neil and in celebration of his birth, Sept. 17, 1969. The event will be informal and will begin at noon. Friends are encouraged to join in a lunch following the dedication to share stories and celebrate Neil’s life.

SPLASH FOR TRASH>>

Ezee Breather scuba divers will be scouring the depths of Cat Lake for underwater garbage on Sun. Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Squamish youth organization will separate the findings into recyclable and landfill materials. SKI MOVIE III: THE FRONT LINE>>

Monster cliff jumps and contortionist grabs over 180-foot gaps, Matchstick Productions presents Ski Movie III: The Front Line. Filmed in Alaska, BC, Norway, California and Colorado and premiering at Millennium Place on Thursday Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 at Helly Hanson stores in advance or at MY place on the 19 th .
