MOUNTAIN BIKE FESTIVAL>>
From Friday to Sunday, Sept. 27-29, there will be a host of mountain bike events in Whistler. Friday night theres a photo competition from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Delta in the Cheakamus Room. CONFERENCE CENTRE GOOD-BYE PARTY>>
A good-bye party before the conference centre begins its $9-million renovations on Friday, Sept. 27 at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 (includes one drink) and music by BigUp, featuring Guitar Doug.
Celebrate BC Rivers Day at Edgewater on Sunday Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join in a scavenger hunt on the River of Golden Dreams as well as a BBQ and face painting as well as displays from local environmental groups. The Whistler Skating Club Canskate program begins offering instruction in basic skating skills for kids by CFSA certified coaches. Registration continues until the end of Sept. 11 th ANNUAL DUCK RACE>>
The ducks are back! Big Brothers and Big Sisters 11 th annual duck race is scheduled for Monday Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Fitzsimmons Bridge. Win a trip for two to Las Vegas, a Whistler-Blackcomb Gold card, and other great prizes. Tickets available on weekends at the Bridge from now until the race. 4 th ANNUAL LUMPYS EPIC>>
The annual epic 12 km run at One Mile Lake, Pemberton is on Sunday, Oct. 20. Registration is at 9 a.m., race starts at 10 a.m. Race entry fee is $15, with proceeds going to Pemberton Jackrabbits Nordic Ski Club. Contact Jeanetter Helmer at 604-894-6618 for more info.
RETURN OF THE SALMON FESTIVAL, SQUAMISH>>
This years Squamish festival runs from Sat. Oct. 12 to Sun. Nov. 3. The goal is to hoist 150 hand painted windsocks from Squamish Station down to the estuary.
