ROTARY CLUB TALENT SHOW>>

The Whistler Rotary Club’s second annual talent show will showcase singers, dancers and musicians for a night on the stage to benefit Whistler’s schools. The evening kicks off at MY Place on Saturdday, May 24 at 7 p.m. Tix are $12 for adults, $9 for kids. No charge for performer!

GLIDING THROUGH TIME>>

The Whistler Skating Club presents this Ice Show on Saturday, May 24 at Meadow Park. 130 local skaters, from age 3 to 17, will show off their skating skills in everything from the square dance to the twist. Renowned champion Gary Beacom will also perform. Show times are 3 and 7:30 p.m. Tix $12 for adults, $7 for kids at Meadow Park. For more info call 604-938-0999.

CHILDREN’S ART FESTIVAL>>

Silk painting, tiled mosaics, terra cotta painting scrapbooking, wood workshop, a magic workshop and more is all part of the Children’s Art Festival on May 24 and 25 at Myrtle Philip School. Fun for kids from pre-school to Grade 8.

REPLANT LUPIN WALK>>

Volunteers are needed to help replant the Lupin Walk – the stretch of the Valley Trail on Hwy. 99 between Village Gate Blvd and Lorimer Rd. that used to be covered in multi-coloured lupins. Meet at the Lupin Walk on Sunday, May 25 at 1:30 p.m. Bring a chopstick, a spoon and a plastic glass or container to hold the seeds. For info call Jenifer Jennings at 604-932-9604.

KINDER AND PRE-SCHOOL HEALTH FAIR>>

The first annual kindergarten and pre-school health fair will include kindergarten immunization, info on nutrition, dental, audiology, speech and language screening and so much more. Thursday, May 29 at the Miller Room in Myrtle Philip School from 1 to 7 p.m., Saturdday, May 31 at the Pemberton Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

MAE PALM FUNDRAISER

Whistler Ironwoman Mae Palm needs a little help from her friends to get to the 2003 Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. Come out to Tapley’s Pub on Friday, May 30 between 5 and 9 p.m. to help out.

RUN OF RIVER POWER PROJECT DISCUSSION>>

The Whitewater Kayaking Association of B.C. is hosting an open meeting to discuss run of river power projects at House Rock on the Cheakamus River (near the near the municipal landfill) on Friday, May 30 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.

Blackcomb Mountain is closed. The mountain reopens for summer glacier skiing on Mon. June 9 until Aug. 2
