NATIONAL BBQ CHAMPIONSHSIPS>>
The second annual BBQ Championships will take place at Dustys this weekend from Fri. Aug. 1 to Sun. Aug. 3. Whistler locals can join in the fun by judging the BBQ and chili contests. They can even join in with some competitive cooking on their own. The smell of the grill should get you running to Creekside all weekend long. Free shuttle buses run Sat. Noon - 6 p.m. and Sun. 9 a.m. 6 p.m. from the transit loop to Dustys

The Whistler Village Church is sponsoring the display of stoles on the stage of the Franz Wilhelmsen Hall at MY Place until Sun. Aug. 3. The display contains a number of colourful and beautiful stoles contributed by people who have been excluded from service in their chosen faith community becuase of their sexual orientation. Whistler Village Church does not take a stand on the issue but offers the display in the hope of prompting dialogue.

The B.C. Transplant Society is holding a registration drive for organ donors from Sun. to Mon. Aug. 3-4 at the Town Plaza Gazebo, opposite The Gap. The drive will take place from 11 a.m until 4 p.m. on both days. Information and registration forms will be available.
