Three Whistler hotels top Condé Nast rankings

Voted top Canadian resorts by readers

Three Whistler hotels have swept the top three places in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler magazine’s ranking of Canadian resorts.

Pan Pacific Mountainside, Four Seasons Resort Whistler and Westin Resort and Spa garnered the top three spots among Canadian resorts, as determined in the U.S. magazine’s 19 th annual readers’ poll that surveyed 21,000 travellers.

It was the first time Pan Pacific has ranked number one in Condé Nast’s survey of Canadian resorts.

“It’s quite a feather in the property’s cap,” said Jim Douglas the hotel’s general manager. It is the second time the nine-year old hotel has been at the top of Condé Nast readers’ choice award, the first being in 1999. “It’s wonderful for three Whistler properties to be the top three and certainly at Pan Pacific Mountainside we feel quite honoured to be recognized in the same breath and group as Four Seasons and Westin.”

Almost 28,000 mail-in or online responses were received for the invitation-only 84-page survey, the second largest independent consumer poll in the U.S. Sixty-four per cent of Condé Nast’s readers are female, are between the ages of 35 and 54 and have an average of income of about $85,000 per annum. Subscribers were asked to rank resorts’ location, overall design, activities and facilities, food and dining, rooms and service.
