Both runs get underway at 9 a.m.The 10km route starts off with a tour of the park that includes Lower Panorama, Old Mill Road, Tommy Moore, Molly Hogan, Lost Lake Loop, Vimy Ridge and Tin Pants back to Lower Panorama. The 5km route includes more Lower Panorama to Molly Hogan, and loops back via Lost Lake Loop and Old Mill Road. After the main race, the 12th annual Teddy Bear Trot for kids six and under takes place. Kids are invited to bring their favourite stuffy for a short loop of the field at 10:15 a.m. It's free and all of the kids get prizes for participating. For adults, the cost is $25 for an individual and $45 for a family, including mom, dad and dependent children. All proceeds from the non-profit event go towards the Whistler Youth Foundation, a youth fund attached to the Community Foundation of Whistler that provides funding for youth-based initiatives that local kids themselves choose. Last year the run raised over $1,000 for the foundation.Visit www.whistlervalleytrailrun.org.
