The occupants of a vehicle that fell 4.5 metres down an embankment were lucky to escape uninjured last week.

Just before 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 22, police responded to a report of an accident on the Callaghan Creek Forest Service Road. Whistler RCMP said the vehicle lost control and went off the road down an embankment before being stopped by several trees.

Alcohol was not a factor, police said.

BREAK-AND-ENTER AT MARSHALL LAKE CABIN

Whistler RCMP responded to a report last week of a break-and-enter at a cabin in the area of Marshall Lake and the Brandywine Forest Service Road.

A large Honda 3000W was reported stolen on Sept. 20.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Whistler RCMP at 604-932-3044 or BC Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

MONEY STOLEN FROM VILLAGE HOME

A break-in at a village home last week netted a thief an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Police were tipped off to a break-and-enter at a residence in the 4800 block of Casabella Crescent the night of Sept. 24. The incident is thought to have occurred sometime between 5:30 and 9 p.m.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Whistler RCMP or BC Crime Stoppers.

Three days earlier, police received a report of a bike that was stolen from a locked garage in the same area of Casabella Crescent.

The caller said the theft occurred sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 20.

The missing bike is described as a 21-speed Specialized Vita sport, matte black in colour with turquoise lettering and no suspension.

SEVERAL VEHICLES DAMAGED IN PAST WEEK

Whistler RCMP dealt with several reports of vehicles damaged in apparent break-and-enter attempts over the past week.

The first report came in on Sept. 19 when a caller told police a vehicle parked on Cheakamus Lake Road near Highway 99 had its rear window smashed.

Nothing was stolen from the vehicle, police said.

On Sept. 21, a vehicle parked in the 4600 block of Blackcomb Way reportedly had its rear window smashed sometime overnight.

Two days later, a vehicle parked in the 4300 block of Northlands Boulevard was reportedly broken into through a rear window. Several items were stolen from the inside the vehicle, as well as three high-end bikes from a bike rack.

Later that day a vehicle in the same area of Northlands Boulevard was broken into, with several items reported stolen, police said.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact Whistler RCMP or BC Crime Stoppers.
