And you thought kittens and bunnies were cute.

Blindmute Productions presents another cutting-edge, totally unique art extravaganza with Attack of the Kittens and Bunnies group art exhibition on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 9 p.m. at Mike’s Garage in Function Junction.

“We want to bring up artists from out of town to showcase their work and give up and coming local artists that don’t have a venue to exhibit their work,” said Dave “Pepe” Petko, artist and co-producer of Blindmute Productions.

Petko and partner Randy Smith last shook up the traditional art world with the staging of the Circus Billy Freak Out at Mike’s Garage. In the latest exhibition, guests will browse bunny and kitty art among car hoists and tools for an underground experience.

All artwork will centre on the theme of cats and rabbits. Vancouver artist Nicole Steen, whose work is no stranger to shows in New York, Chicago and L.A., will hang a portrait of Catwoman for the show while artist Hayley Wirsching snaps the real thing with animal photographs and Pilar Alvarez paints the Day of the Dead Bunnies.

Familiar local names to look out for at the show include Petko, Jon Parris, Dan Poisson, Lauren Javor, Pamela Mason, Josee St Amour, Arne Gutmann, The Incredible Amoeba, Devin White, Chili Thom, Andrea Tucker, Tom Meraw, Xandra Grayson and many more.

DJ R3 will spin out this funky night of acrylics, oils, multi-media, photography, film, paper maché, metal work and sculpture.

Must be 19 years plus to attend.

The first 50 tickets are $5. Tickets are $10 thereafter as well as at the door.

Advance tickets are available at Evolution and Mike’s Garage.
