WFF entry deadline extended to Sept. 20

The Whistler Film Festival has extended its submission deadline to Sept. 20, director of programming Bill Evans announced in a press release.

"We wanted to give filmmakers a little extra time to submit their films," said Evans in the release. "Obviously, this is a particularly busy time of year for filmmakers and we wanted to make their lives a little easier."

The extension comes after an earlier announcement about a new $10,000 award at this year’s festival – The Phillip Borsos Award for Best Canadian Feature Film. Competition for the award is restricted to films having their world premiere at the Whistler Film Festival and is open to all genres of feature film.

Non-cash prizes will be awarded for Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, and Best Adventure Film.

The fourth annual festival takes place this year from Dec. 2 to 5. For more information visit www.whistlerfilmfestival.com
