Whistler's Jer Buck has won the Whistler Blackcomb First Tracks contest. The social media competition was launched to celebrate the abundance of early-season snow that has already fallen in the alpine, and will take Buck up with Whistler Heli-Ski for powder skiing Thursday.
He will go with pro snowboarder Annie Boulanger, and pro skiers Mike Douglas and Eric Hjorleifson, enjoying some first turns on Blackcomb Mountain and in the Whistler backcountry. All the while, legendary ski photographer Paul Morrison and Switchback Entertainment will capture the action on photo and film.
This is the first time WB has run a contest of this sort.
Participants were asked to Tweet a photo or post their best Instagram shot with the hashtag #WBFirstTracks depicting the theme “First Tracks”! The best photo was chosen this afternoon.
