Whistler RCMP is on the look out for a male and a female captured on store video April 15 for allegedly stealing toques and some goggles valued at more than $700.

The pair was caught on surveillance and RCMP was notified a few days after the incident.

A day later, another store's security staff alerted foot patrol officers of two males suspected of previously stealing from the store and spotted in the village. Officers attended and arrested two males, and a subsequent search warrant revealed five items of clothing - with price tags still attached - in one man's vehicle. Both are charged with theft over $5,000 and theft under $5,000. A 30-year-old Langley man and a 31-year-old ALdergrove man were released with a promise to appear in court June 28.

CRITICALLY INJURED

Reports of man who'd fallen off a roof in the Marketplace area brought police, ambulance and fire services to the square Sunday morning, April 16 at about 5:30 a.m. On arrival they found a 23-year-old Whistler resident who had apparently slipped while climbing to the first floor of a building.

He was taken to the Whistler Health Care Centre then transferred to a Vancouver hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Police said the man was reportedly climbing up the building to watch the sunrise.

BREACH OF ORDER

Officers were called after reports from a male concerning an uninvited female to a residence in the 8500-block of Pemberton Meadows Road on April 13.

Police arrived to find a woman banging on the door and it was soon determined she was a suspect in three previously reported break-and-enters at the home.

The woman, a 26-year-old from Pemberton, then went to a neighbouring home to make contact with that resident. Police determined she was in breach of an order of compliance to have no contact with that resident.

The woman was remanded in custody and appeared in court April 18 in North Vancouver.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, POSSESSION

• A 24-year-old Whistler male, known to police and suspected of non-compliance, was arrested after being observed by officers and was charged with failing to comply with recognizance orders to possess or consume alcohol. Officers also found he has two other counts of failure to comply. RCMP arrested the male April 13 and he was held until a court appearance April 18.

• A 29-year-old male from Port Mellon, B.C., was arrested April 15 while drunk in public in Skier's Plaza and causing a disturbance. He was also charged with resisting arrest. The same night, another male, a 24-year-old Vancouver man who was observed rubbing his face and licking his hand was arrested after officers found about .22 g of suspected cocaine in a bag that the man dropped. The man was taken into custody and released with a promise to appear.

• On April 16, officers observed an intoxicated male falling and wobbling in the area west of Village Square. The aggressive man was arrested for obstructing police and causing a disturbance. He was issued a $500 violation ticket. Another male showed up and argued and both men were issued violation tickets for being drunk in public. The 37-year-old and 24-year-old males - both from Whistler - were released once they were sober.
