Whistler’s FIS athletes were at the top of the heap in the Mars Cup points race this season.

In the men’s J2 category (ages 17 and up), Whistler’s Scott Hume ran away with the title. He was followed by Dustin Fraser from Mt. Washington, who is racing with the B.C. Ski Team. Chris Colpitts, another Whistler Mountain Ski Club athlete, finished third in the rankings.

In the J1 category (ages 15-16), the WMSC’s Matt Holler led the province in his first year in FIS. He was followed by Rob Wasiliew of the Silver Star Alpine Racers in Vernon and Liam Foran of the Vancouver Ski Team and Grouse Tyee Ski Club.

In the women’s J2 category Whistler’s Charlotte Whitney was the girl to beat. Second place went to her teammate Alison Leighton, who is with the B.C. Ski Team this year as well as the WMSC. She’s also just 16 years old, and was competing in a higher age category.

Third place went to WMSC alumnus Rachel Nixon, who is with the Vancouver Ski Team and Cypress Ski Club.

Alison Leighton also won the women’s J1 title. She was followed by Kerri van Doorninck of the Vancouver Ski Team and Cypress Ski Club and Lindsay Kraft of the Silver Star Alpine Racers.
