Whistler swimmers keep heads up

Whistler swimmers had a good summer in regional and provincial swimming competition, as 12-year-old Wyatt Pedersen and 10-year-old Kerry-Anne Hamilton joined the Squamish Pirates team for their summer competitive program.

Whistler swimmers had a good summer in regional and provincial swimming competition, as 12-year-old Wyatt Pedersen and 10-year-old Kerry-Anne Hamilton joined the Squamish Pirates team for their summer competitive program.

Hamilton made it to the provincials in the backstroke with a podium finish at the regional championships against five North and West Vancouver clubs, while Pedersen claimed a spot in the breast stroke.

In the provincials, Pedersen finished 10 th , and just missed a spot in the grand final. Hamilton squeaked into the grand final, where she finished eighth behind the top swimmers in the province while setting a new personal best.
