WMSC/Freestyle Club let you try before you buy

Both the Whistler Mountain Ski Club and the Blackcomb Freestyle Ski Club are offering open houses to the general public, giving young skiers an opportunity to try these sports out for themselves.

The WMSC Rookie Camp takes place this weekend, Nov. 27-28, and is open to all skiers born between the years of 1990 and 1994. The cost is $25, which includes two days of coaching in freeskiing, jumping and gate training.

There are a limited number of spots, so if you wish to participate contact the WMSC at 604-932-3044 or info@whistlermountainskiclub.com.

Skiers can also register at the Whistler Village Gondola at 8 a.m. each day. Passes are not provided.

The Blackcomb Freestyle Ski Club is hosting a free one-day trial to anyone on Dec. 4. Just sign a waiver and you can join either a moguls camp or a freeskiing camp for a day with no commitment to join the club. The club is also offering passes this season worth anywhere from four days to 15 days of coaching at a special rate, if you don’t have the time to make a full commitment or want to use coaching to improve your their mogul skiing or park riding.

For more information, contact head coach Marc McDonnell at 604-953-2711 or club manager Anne Hicks at 604-534-9257.
