WSSF looking for an MC

If you have a loud, radio-friendly voice, are never at a loss for words, and are completely comfortable addressing a crowd as big as 15,000, you could be the next Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival master of ceremonies.

If you have a loud, radio-friendly voice, are never at a loss for words, and are completely comfortable addressing a crowd as big as 15,000, you could be the next Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival master of ceremonies.

The festival emcee will work from April 11 to 20 on the festival mainstage announcing for the DKNY/Jeans Live Outdoor Concert Series.

"We’re after an emcee who is not only articulate and comfortable in front of massive crowds, but also someone whose personality and characteristics reflect the unique Whistler scene," said festival chairman Doug Perry.

Organizers are looking for either a solo act or a pair of emcees.

The chosen ones will emcee for more than 30 live acts, which will be held every day throughout the festival from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The successful candidates will also handle festival announcements and need to dedicate additional time each day reading through scripts and working with organizers to ensure smooth delivery.

If you think you have what it takes, send a two to five minute audition tape, VHS format, to the W1 office in Function Junction at Unit 10, 1006 Lynham Road. The office will be accepting entries up until 5 p.m. on March 17. The best applicant or pair of applicants will then be selected for the 10 days of the festival.
