The World Ski and Snowboard Festival has announced the complete list of performers for its free outdoor concert series.
The shows run from April 14 to the 21 at Skiers Plaza from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Headliners include veteran rapper Nas, Hamilton rockers Arkells and alt-hip hop act G. Love & Special Sauce.
Also on the roster: Vancouver hip hop group Swollen Members; Australian folk singer Kim Churchill; Langley rock act Yuca; experimental fusion group Beats Antique; Vancouver’s Whiskey Chief; Canadian rapper K-OS and east coast indie-pop act Rich Aucoin.
The festival was one of the local events to receive money from the Resort Municipality of Whistler’s Festival Events and Animation funding. This year, organizers had an extra $135,000 to put towards the concert series. Organizers say the money will help keep programming strong and woo new sponsors, following Telus pulling out as a title sponsor last year.
