On Our Radar: Special dinner of wine, whimsy and white formal wear coming to the Tri-Cities

A local dinner en blanc is set to help young business professionals network with the community.
Diner en Blanc
Dinner en Blanc sees people gather for an evening dressed in white formalwear, as seen here at Vandusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver.

In a normal year, Dinner en Blanc in Vancouver brings hundreds of people together for an evening of drinks, dancing and entertainment as if they were whisked away to a night in Paris.

It's inspired a local event of the same kind in the Tri-Cities next month for a chance to engage with local residents and the business community.

Members of the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce young professionals (TCYP) are set to host a Dinner en Blanc in Coquitlam in marking the return of the TCYP Wine Club.

Interested participants are encouraged to dress in their best white formal wear in conjunction with the theme.

The networking night is set to include dinner, conversations and a white wine contest to see who brought the best-tasting bottle.

The TCYP Wine Club says attendees will bring two bottles of the same white wine, priced around $20 — one bottle to share with the group and the other to whoever scores the highest at the end of the event.

The wine will be scored based on specific criteria.

The TCYP Wine Club's Dinner en Blanc is schedule for July 22 at Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $45 each for non-Chamber members, $30 for members, and each includes a $10 voucher for a safe ride home.

For more information, you can visit the event's page on the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce website.
