RCMP ask for public's help to find missing Whistler resident

Authorities are searching for Whistler resident Clorrica Riggs, Whistler RCMP said Wednesday. The 29-year-old was last seen on Aug. 23.

Police are seeking the community's help in their search for missing Whistler resident Clorrica Riggs, after her car was discovered at the Rainbow Lake trailhead on Alta Lake Road.

Whistler RCMP said the 29-year-old was last seen yesterday, on Tuesday, Aug. 23. According to a Facebook post, Riggs set out for a walk in the Rainbow Trail area shortly after 2 p.m.

Authorities said they are concerned about Riggs' "mental wellness."

In a release issued Wednesday morning, police described Riggs as Caucasian, with a fair complexion, brown eyes, long, straight brown hair and a slim build. She stands at five feet (152 cm) tall and weighs approximately 119 lbs (54 kg). She was last seen wearing a black tank top and black shorts.

Whistler Search and Rescue have also been deployed in the search for the local.

“Clorrica’s actions are not usual for her and we’re concerned about how she’s doing,” said Cpl. Angela Kermer, media relations officer with Sea to Sky RCMP. “We’re appealing to community to keep on lookout, we can use every set of eyes we can get at this time to help find Clorrica.”
