Richmond’s Special Olympics team chalked up another win last weekend, this time winning the Summer Series Bocce tournament in Vancouver.

The athletes – Vincent, Ryan, Kelsey and Kaitlyn – were coached by Chaslynn Gillanders.

The Super Summer Series was created due to the pandemic forcing the cancellation of the 2021 Special Olympics BC Summer Games and the 2022 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games.

Provincial and territorial Special Olympics chapters across the country worked together to develop the series, which is a new pathway for athletes to qualify for spots on the national team for the 2023 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin.
