YVR impacted by Rogers outage

Payment for parking and vendors at YVR as well as ATM machines are impacted by the nationwide outage.

Vancouver International Airport is being affected by the nationwide Rogers outage.

Travellers heading to YVR today may experience trouble with phone services and payment methods, in addition to ongoing issues with wait times.

According to the YVR's advisory, the following services are affected by the nationwide Rogers outage:

  • Point-of-sale systems at all retail and food and beverage vendors;
  • ATMs in the terminal; and
  • Payment for parking.

"YVR is working with passengers and our airport partners through this outage. Safety and security are our top priority. Operations, including flight departures and arrivals, are normal at this time," reads the advisory.

All over the country, Canadians are experiencing issues with 911 calls, debit transactions, and passport offices. The ongoing outage may also be affecting taxis, ride share, and public transit. 

Travellers are advised to check the status of their flight prior to going to the airport, and updated information will be provided at yvr.ca, and on YVR's Twitter accounts in English and French.
