25 years of artistic achievement

Canadian artist, Mike Svob, has spent the past 25 years of his artistic career mastering the mediums of watercolour, acrylics and oils. He has held more than 65 exhibitions, producing over 25 large-scale murals that feature his distinct impressionistic style coupled with strong colour. But he's also an artist who has a sense of adventure - he has cycled through Europe, flown a single-engine plane across Canada and the U.S., and trekked through Nepal. "The inspiration for this work comes from the simple yet dynamic play of light, colour and shape upon the landscape. In my work I attempt to distill this relationship into brushstrokes of paint that capture the poignancy that triggers the recesses of our brain to bring forth feelings of beauty, majesty and awe." The Adele Campbell Gallery is hosting his latest exhibition Saturday, April 11 to Monday, April 20, with Svob giving a live demonstration during Saturday's opening reception, between 5 and 8 p.m.
