A Maple Ridge woman is facing numerous charges after she was arrested for break-and-enter earlier this month.

Last Monday, Oct. 22, police arrested the 33-year-old, who had previously been arrested for using a fraudulent credit card. Whistler RCMP did not indicate where the break-in took place.

The woman now faces charges of break-and-enter, theft and possession of stolen property, as well as breaching her court-ordered conditions.

At approximately 2 p.m. the same day, Mounties responded to a report of fraud, and ultimately arrested a 33-year-old Cranbrook woman for using a fraudulent credit card at a Whistler business. She was arrested and released with a future court date.

Man dies following fall from ladder in Dentville

A Squamish man is dead after falling from a ladder at his Dentville residence last weekend, police confirmed.

Mounties were called to the Squamish General Hospital at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. Police said the man fell 30 feet (9.1 metres) from a ladder while doing work on the side of his house. He was transported to hospital but did not survive the injuries. The BC Coroners Service has taken over the investigation and had not released the man’s identity at press time.

Driver crashes into light post in Cheakamus, refuses breathalyzer test

A driver is facing charges after he crashed his vehicle in Cheakamus Crossing last week, police said.

Whistler RCMP responded to a collision on Legacy Way at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, after a sprinter van collided with a light post.>/p>

Police said the man, who identified himself as “a professional driver,” refused to provide officers with a roadside breath sample. He was issued documents to appear in court for refusing a breath sample, along with a driving prohibition, police said.

Kayak reported stolen from Function Junction business compound

Police are asking the public for any information on a reported break-and-enter to a business compound in Function Junction last week.

At around 10 a.m. last Thursday, Oct. 25, Whistler RCMP received the report of a break-in to a business compound in the 1000 block of Millar Creek Road. A red, Pelican-brand kayak was reportedly stolen.

Books, puzzles reported stolen from Squamish senior complex

A seniors complex in Squamish has seen numerous items disappear from its common room over the past several months, police said.

On Monday, Oct. 22, Squamish RCMP received the report from a complainant at the facility who said books, puzzles, magazines and cleaning supplies have gone missing since January, “leaving the shelves empty and the inability for others to enjoy,” according to a release.
