With ski season just around the corner, BC Transit is rolling out increased transit service.

"We try to match ridership with demand," said Jonathon Dyck, communications manager for BC Transit.

"There will be times of the year, like the fall and spring, where we reduce service so we can provide more during the busier months."

Early winter service begins Saturday, Nov. 17. It will result in an increase on all Whistler routes. Route 4 Marketplace—the free shuttle, which runs between upper Village and Marketplace IGA—will also make its return on Saturday.

Transit service will be further augmented on Dec. 15, when full winter service kicks in. (It lasts until March 31, 2019.)

Winter service will result in improved mid-day service on route 20X Cheakamus/Village and 25 Whistler Creekside/Village, as well as more evening trips on Route 6 Tapley's/Blueberry.
