The Whistler Public Library has joined forces with FirstClass Systems Corporation to provide Whistler residents with an opportunity for affordable, online self-study.

The Whistler facility was the third library to come on board after FirstClass announced its initiative to increase community access to quality IT and business skills training.

The alliance allows Whistlerites to tap into more than 300 courses in information technology and professional development topics such as MS Office applications, Web design and development, A+ Certifications, time management and many more.

All the courses are currently used by major corporations to enhance their own employee’s skills. Now, they can be done over the Internet, from home or from a workstation at the library.

"We are pleased with the collaborative work we have done with FirstClass Systems to develop an online centre for our membership," said Joan Richoz, Whistler Public Library director.

Anyone can access the site at http://wpl.gofcs.com or by clicking "Online Learning" from the library’s Web site at www.whistlerweb.net/library .

Details on pricing course outlines, certification tracks and free demo course are all available on the site.
